Narada Bakthi Suthram – Chapter 04 – Bakthi Lakshanam:

Sutram 55:
Thath-praapya Thadevaavalokayathi, thadeva srunothi, thadeva bhaashayathi, thadeva chinthayathi!
Thath-praapya = After accomplishing it, Thad-evaa-valokayathi = one sees that alone, Thadevasrunothi = one hears that alone, Thadeva bhaashayathi = talks of that alone, thadeva chinthayathi = Thinks of that alone.

Meaning: When one has reached i.e. achieved that devotion, thereafter he/she sees, hears, talks and think about that purest devotion alone. Sri Krishna’s Gopis are such devotees, Prahlada, Poonthanam and few other devotees.

Sutram 56:
Gauni Thridha, Gunabhedhaadh Aarthaadhibhedhaadhvaa!
Gauni = Saguna or Sadhana, Thridha = Three types, Gunabhedhaadh = The difference of Gunas / Qualities, Aarthaadhibhedhaadh = Difference of the afflicted, Vaa = To whom it belongs to.
Meaning: Devotion (Bakthi) is classified as two types viz. Gauni (Secondary) and Mukhya (Primary). The Gauni is further classified into three types according to its qualities (Gunas), according to the difference of the afflicted and other aspirants to whom it belongs. In other words, Gauni is Saguna Bakthi and Mukhya is Nirguna Bakthi. Those Gunas are Sathwa-Rajas-Thamas and it has the status of Uthama-Madhyama-Adhama. The Soul has a natural tendency to love God, however, in the initial stage, it shines through the instruction of the mind mixed with Gunas. At the same time, the Nirguna Bakthi is unexplainable and only experienceable. There are 4 types of Sukruthis introduced by Sage Narada, later the same was referred to in the Bhagavath Gita. They are Aarthan, Jighnaasu, Artharthi and Ghnaani. Since Ghnaani is beyond the influence of Thri-Gunaas, the other three people are referred to in this context. According to God, all are Sukruthis irrespective of their knowledge or the intention, this is the beauty of God!
