NARADHA BHAKTHI SUTHRAM – TAMIL UPANYASAM – JAN-03-2020 : Episode 16

Om Namasivaya Nama:
Narada Bakthi Suthram – Chapter 03 – BakthisAdhanAni:
Sutram 36:

AvyAvruthabajanAth!
AvyAvruthabajanAth = Uninterrupted devotion.
Meaning: Sage Narada says the duty of a Sadak (Aspirant/Devotee) is to devote the highest gratitude towards his/her Swamy (God). Bajan (Devotion) means serving God with love and affection without any expectations. To improve, sustain and achieve the highest position (Parabakthi), one must practice devotional activities without break and adore Upansa Murthy above everything.
All Sanathanees know that the Samsaradukkam (transmigration) is chasing us continuously, therefore to get rid this decease there is only one easily available remedy (medicine) recommended by Narada Maharshi and other Sages is to worship God without any break!
Sutram 37:
Lokepi Bagavadhgunasravana KeerthanAth!
Lokepi = Even while involved in the material world activities, Bagavadhgunasravana KeerthanAth = One must keep remembering and repeating the glories of God.
Meaning: Even while attending affairs of ordinary life, one must keep thinking about the glories of God. Keep listening to the various narrations (Upanyasams/Discourses etc) given by Mahathmaas (Wisemen) about God. It is difficult for people to stay away from mundane activities but no need to worry, keep one portion of the mind for God and chant while doing the work also praise God for giving an opportunity to complete the task. Sravanam and Keerthan can be done either individually or by likeminded collective people.
In a water reservoir, there will be always a hidden stream deep inside of it, likewise, our Aathma is always vested with Bakthi in it but due to Maya, we get free opportunities to forget about this hidden secret. To realize this truth Sage Narada is giving an idea that the devotee should silently chant holy names within. Also, Bhagavan Veda Vyasa wrote about it and Lord Sri Krishna too endorsed it that does all your work as an offering to me and just by thinking about me every time. By doing this way the aspirant will become Parabakthan and eventually attain Mokha by merging his/her Soul with God.
Sutram 38:
Mukhya Thasthu Mahath Kripayaiva Bagavath KrupaalesAdhva!
Mukhyatha: = The important, Mahathkripaya = The mercy or compassion of wise people, Bagavath Krupaalesaath Va = By a little a portion of grace of God.
Meaning: The Bakthi takes birth in us mainly due to the most important blessings of Wisemen (Mahathmaas) and/or a little a portion of the grace of God.
As we learned, Vishaya ThyagamSanga Thyagam and Avyaavrutha Bhajanam are completely depending on an individual’s effort. Whereas, love towards God is appearing in us only due to God’s grace. Such grace is usually felt by an individual primarily through the compassion shown by Wisemen (great devotees) on us. In other words, there is no big difference between the grace of God and compassionate Mahatmas. That is why there is a compassionate blessing of Mahatmas behind every individual who ascended to Godhood.
Who are such Mahatmas? They are 1. Samdarsees (see everyone equally), 2. Parama SAnthAs (person of highest calm and peace), 2. Krodha Rahithaas (practising highest amount of patience), 4. Sarva Bhootha Suhruths (friendly with all beings or creations), 5. Sadachara Sambannars (self-disciplined). Sage Narada opinions that one of the biggest treasures is Satsangam.
Vedas, Rishis, Sajjanas are the direct representatives of compassionate God. In summary, only with the grace of God, a devotee (Jeevathma) get an opportunity or interests to practice spiritual discipline and accept Mahathmas as Guru. Upon accepting a true realized Guru and his/her guidance, the Jeevathma (Self) will eventually get detached from transmigration (Samsaram) wheel and join hands with God.
