Slok 309:

Even though one may root out this terrible Ego-Sense, if revived in the mind even for a moment, it will create hundreds of mischiefs.

Sloka 310:

Renounce Actions, Thoughts and Vasanaas:

Therefore, having destroyed the enemy, the ego, not a single moment’s of rest should be given to it to ruminate / re-unite over sense-objects. The is the primary reason for its returning to life (ego!). Just like watering to a dried-up tree getting back into life. Don’t show mercy to Ego, keep killing this ego-sense whenever it emerges.
